AMY Grupo's initial public offering (IPO) has entered its payment phase, with the company set to raise VND 787.29 billion (approximately $34 million) from the sale of 16.1 million shares. The offer price of VND 48,900 per share implies a post-IPO valuation of VND 7.851 trillion. However, the allocation of proceeds reveals a strategic emphasis on financial restructuring rather than immediate capacity expansion.
According to the prospectus, 61% of the gross proceeds (VND 480 billion) will be used to repay short-term bank borrowings, while the remaining VND 307.29 billion is earmarked for working capital, primarily to settle supplier obligations. This move effectively resets the company's balance sheet ahead of its planned investment phase, reducing gross debt by roughly 20% if the offering is fully subscribed.
The IPO comes as AMY Grupo, a Vietnamese manufacturer of vinyl flooring and other building materials, prepares for its public market debut. The Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange remains closed for trading, and AMY shares have not yet begun trading. Investors who were allocated shares must complete their payment by 16:00 ICT on August 24, 2026. The company expects to announce the final subscription results on August 26 and aims to list on the exchange in October under the ticker AMY.
Financial Performance and Valuation
AMY Grupo has demonstrated solid operational growth in recent years. Revenue reached VND 6.997 trillion in 2025, up from VND 6.037 trillion in 2024, while profit before tax grew to VND 953 billion from VND 1.015 trillion in the prior year. The first quarter of 2026 continued the trend, with revenue climbing 36.6% year-over-year to VND 1.786 trillion and profit after tax rising 37% to VND 193.5 billion.
At the offer price, AMY is valued at approximately 10.5 times its 2025 consolidated profit, according to company disclosures. Vietcap Securities, the IPO's sponsor, calculates a 9.8 times offer multiple and an 11.1 times fair value multiple, based on forward earnings estimates. The discrepancy arises from the use of projected 2026 earnings versus the trailing 2025 results.
Use of Proceeds and Balance Sheet Impact
As of March 31, 2026, AMY Grupo held VND 873 billion in cash and equivalents, which represents 111% of the gross IPO proceeds. Total borrowings stood at VND 2.329 trillion, making up 20.6% of total assets. The company's total liabilities were approximately VND 3.4 trillion, or 64% of assets, while receivables plus inventory accounted for VND 2.244 trillion, or 42% of assets. Equity was VND 1.946 trillion, meaning the offering value is equivalent to 40% of current equity.
Chief Executive Dinh Quoc Tuan described the IPO as "far more than a capital-raising exercise," emphasizing that it would improve corporate governance and help build capacity for future growth. However, the cash allocation clearly prioritizes debt reduction over new factory construction, a move that analysts say strengthens the company's financial flexibility.
Market and Risk Considerations
AMY Grupo's business is heavily export-oriented, with exports accounting for 74.66% of 2025 revenue. Of that, 62.49% went to the United States, meaning nearly half of the group's revenue is indirectly tied to a single market. This concentration exposes the company to shifts in U.S. demand, trade policies, and currency fluctuations. Additionally, AMY's balance sheet shows elevated levels of receivables and inventory, which could pose liquidity risks.
Ownership is another consideration: before the offering, over 92% of shares were held by five top executives. Issuing 10% new shares will dilute their stake but still leave control heavily concentrated. The company plans to distribute an initial cash dividend of VND 2,000 per share, offering a yield of 4.1% based on the offer price.
Vietcap projects that AMY's revenue and attributable profit will grow at annual rates of 23% and 24%, respectively, through 2028, driven by expansion in vinyl flooring and continued U.S. market share gains. However, these projections are sponsor estimates and not independent forecasts.
As the payment deadline approaches, investors are reminded that AMY is not yet listed, so there is no established market price or liquidity benchmark. The success of the offering and the subsequent listing in October will determine whether the initial valuation holds. With the payment deadline on August 24 and results due August 26, the coming days are critical for the company's transition to public ownership.
