Cookie Policy

Effective date: January 1, 2026 — Last reviewed: February 7, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how StockTi ("we," "us," or "our") uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies when you visit our website at stockti.com. It describes what these technologies are, why we use them, and your rights to control their use.

By continuing to use our site, you acknowledge that you have read and understand this policy. Where required by applicable law, we will request your consent before placing non-essential cookies.

1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) through your browser. They allow the site to recognize your device on subsequent visits, store preferences, and gather usage information.

Local storage and session storage are browser-based storage mechanisms that serve a similar purpose to cookies but can hold larger amounts of data and, in the case of local storage, persist until explicitly cleared. Unlike cookies, local storage data is never automatically sent to the server with HTTP requests.

Pixels and beacons are tiny, transparent images embedded in web pages or emails that allow us to record whether a page or email has been viewed. StockTi does not currently use tracking pixels or web beacons.

2. Categories of Technologies We Use

We classify the technologies on our site into four categories based on their purpose. The table below provides a comprehensive overview.

2.1 Strictly Necessary

These technologies are essential for the basic operation of the site. They enable core functionality such as page navigation, secure areas, and load balancing. The site cannot function properly without them, and they cannot be disabled.

NameTypePurposeDuration
PHPSESSIDCookieMaintains server-side session state for form submissions and CSRF protection.Session (cleared when browser closes)
__cf_bmCookieSet by Cloudflare to distinguish between humans and bots and protect the site from malicious traffic.30 minutes
cf_clearanceCookieSet by Cloudflare after a visitor completes a challenge. Allows the visitor to access the site without repeated challenges.Up to 1 year

2.2 Functional

These technologies remember choices you make (such as your stock watchlist or preferred chart time range) to provide a more personalized experience. They do not track your activity across other websites.

NameTypePurposeDuration
stockti_watchlistLocal storageStores the list of stock symbols you add to your personal watchlist. This data is kept entirely in your browser and is never transmitted to our servers.Persistent (until you clear site data)
stockti_chart_periodLocal storageRemembers the last chart time period you selected (1M, 3M, 6M, 1Y) so it persists across pages.Persistent

2.3 Analytics

We collect minimal, anonymized analytics to understand how visitors use our site and to improve the service. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party behavioral tracking platform.

NameTypePurposeDuration
Server-side loggingServer logStandard web server access logs record the requested URL, timestamp, HTTP status code, referrer, and user-agent string. Logs are used for debugging, security monitoring, and aggregated traffic analysis.90 days (raw logs), then deleted

2.4 Advertising and Tracking

StockTi does not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking technologies. We do not sell, rent, or share your browsing data with third-party advertisers or data brokers.

3. Third-Party Technologies

Some technologies on our site are placed by third-party services that we use to operate and protect the platform:

  • Cloudflare (cloudflare.com): Provides CDN, DDoS protection, and bot management. Cloudflare may set cookies listed in section 2.1 above. Cloudflare acts as a data processor on our behalf. Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
  • Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com): Delivers the typefaces used on the site (Inter and JetBrains Mono). Google Fonts does not set cookies, but Google may process your IP address when the fonts are loaded. Google Fonts Privacy FAQ.

We regularly review third-party services and limit them to those necessary for site operation. We do not permit any third party to use data collected through our site for their own advertising purposes.

4. How to Manage Cookies and Storage

You have several options for controlling cookies and local storage:

Browser Settings

All modern browsers allow you to view, block, and delete cookies. Below are links to cookie management instructions for commonly used browsers:

Clearing Local Storage

Local storage (used for your watchlist) can be cleared through your browser's developer tools or site data settings:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Site Settings → View permissions and data stored across sites → Search for "stockti.com" → Delete data.
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data → Search for "stockti.com" → Remove Selected.
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data → Search for "stockti.com" → Remove.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) header with requests. As StockTi does not engage in cross-site tracking or serve targeted advertising, our behavior is the same regardless of whether the DNT signal is present.

Impact of Blocking Cookies

If you choose to block or delete cookies and local storage, the following features will be affected:

  • Watchlist: Your saved stock symbols will be lost and the watchlist will appear empty on your next visit.
  • Cloudflare protection: You may be presented with challenge pages more frequently.
  • Session state: Form submissions (such as the contact form) may not work correctly.

Core content — news articles, stock quotes, market data, and charts — will remain fully accessible without cookies.

5. Legal Basis for Processing

Where applicable under data protection law (including the EU/EEA General Data Protection Regulation):

  • Strictly necessary cookies: Processed under the legal basis of legitimate interest, as they are essential for the site to function.
  • Functional and analytics technologies: Processed on the basis of legitimate interest (improving user experience and site performance). Where required by law, we obtain consent before setting these.

You may withdraw consent at any time by clearing cookies and local storage as described in section 4 above.

6. Data Transfers

Some third-party services (Cloudflare, Google Fonts) may process data outside your country of residence, including in the United States. These providers maintain appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect your data in accordance with applicable law.

7. Children's Privacy

StockTi is a financial information service intended for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 16. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete that information.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, legislation, or our business practices. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last reviewed" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

9. Contact

If you have questions or concerns about our use of cookies or this policy, please reach out through our contact form. We will respond within 5 business days.
