BitMine Immersion Technologies (NYSE: BMNR) closed Friday's session at $17.28, down 4.4% on the day, but the stock still managed to post a 9.4% gain for the week. The move came as Ether, the company's primary treasury asset, held steady over the same period, slipping just 0.1% from the prior Friday's level.

Ether ended the week around $1,864, while Bitcoin fell 2.8% to approximately $62,850. Despite the crypto market's mixed performance, BitMine outperformed its main asset by about nine percentage points, driven by company-specific catalysts and investor optimism.

Holdings Update and Buyback

On Monday, BitMine reported its latest treasury figures, revealing 5,787,414 ETH, 208 Bitcoin, and $268 million in cash. The company also valued two strategic investments at an additional $241 million. This disclosure provided a clearer picture of the firm's asset base and supported the weekly rally.

Adding to the positive sentiment, BitMine repurchased 6.1 million shares during the week, following a 5.5 million-share buyback the previous week. Chairman Thomas Lee commented, "We increased our equity buyback," signaling management's confidence in the company's valuation.

NAV Calculation and Discount

Based on the disclosed holdings, initial mark-to-market calculations place the basic net asset value (NAV) at approximately $10.93 billion, or between $18.12 and $18.48 per share. The varying per-share figures account for different share counts, reflecting the impact of the recent buybacks. Friday's closing price implies a discount to NAV ranging from 4.6% to 6.5%.

The valuation bridge shows that the ETH holdings alone are worth $10.789 billion at Friday's Ether price, with Bitcoin contributing $13 million, cash and marketable securities $268 million, and strategic stakes $241 million. After subtracting liabilities of $30 million and preferred liquidation claims of $350 million, the estimated common NAV stands at $10.931 billion.

Daily Performance and Market Context

Friday's decline was partly tied to Ether's drop of $52.96, which reduced the reported ETH holdings by approximately $306.5 million. This translated to a $0.80 per share impact, wiping out between $473 million and $483 million in equity value. Ether accounted for roughly 64% to 65% of the loss, with the remainder attributed to a wider discount, other asset valuations, or increased trading risk.

The broader crypto-equity market also slid on Friday. Sharplink Inc. (NASDAQ: SBET) fell 4.37%, Strategy Inc. (NASDAQ: MSTR) dropped 4.56%, and Coinbase Global (NASDAQ: COIN) tumbled 10.65% following its earnings report. BitMine's decline was not unique, but its treasury size continues to set it apart from peers.

Staking Revenue and Preferred Dividend

BitMine's staking operations provide a recurring revenue stream. The company reported that 4,917,189 ETH, or 85% of its holdings, is staked, generating an estimated annualized revenue of $254 million at a 2.65% yield. This gross forecast covers the preferred dividend obligation by approximately 7.6 times. BitMine's 9.50% Series A preferred stock (NYSE: BMNP) has a $100 par value, with 3.5 million shares outstanding, translating to an annual obligation of $33.25 million before any compounding.

Risks and Outlook

Investors should note that the NAV calculation combines data from different reporting dates and does not account for subsequent issuances, accrued dividends, or changes in strategic-stake values. BitMine also highlights risks related to crypto market volatility, custody practices, regulatory shifts, internal control shortcomings, and potential staking delays.

Ether's trading over the weekend will offer an early indication for Monday's opening level. BitMine has released holdings updates every Monday for the past four weeks, though no confirmation has been given for an August 3 update. A key sensitivity: an Ether swing of $100 results in an approximate $579 million change in gross treasury value, or about $0.96 to $0.98 per common share.
