Credo Technology Group Holding Ltd (NASDAQ:CRDO) closed Friday's regular session at $206.99, up 2.9%, extending a two-day recovery to 16.6%. In after-hours trading, the stock slipped 1.0% to $205. Despite the rebound, Credo ended the week 2.9% lower, and the shares remain 31.6% below their record closing high of $302.52, reached on June 22.
The sharp decline has trimmed Credo's valuation, but the growth premium remains intact. As of Friday, the company's market capitalization stood at $38.6 billion, representing 20.5 times its projected annualized first-quarter revenue. This preliminary figure is based on management's midpoint revenue estimate of $470 million.
Credo's recent trading has been volatile. The stock fell 16.7% by Wednesday, then rebounded 16.6% over the next two sessions, recovering approximately 80% of the earlier loss. The weekly performance was mixed: Credo dropped 2.89% week-over-week, while the PHLX Semiconductor Index fell 4.30% and the Nasdaq Composite rose 1.59%.
For the first quarter of fiscal 2027, management forecasts revenue between $465 million and $475 million, with a non-GAAP gross margin estimate between 67% and 69%. At the midpoint, revenue would increase 7.6% sequentially and 110.7% year-over-year. This follows a fiscal 2026 where revenue surged 205.7% to $1.335 billion, driven by active electrical cable ramps, which contributed over 99% of the $898.3 million gain.
Credo's valuation sits between that of a rapidly expanding specialist and a larger, more diversified supplier. Its trailing price-to-earnings ratio stood at 83.5, compared to Marvell Technology's 64.1 and Astera Labs' 209.8. On a market value-to-annualized revenue basis, Credo trades at 20.5 times, while Astera Labs trades at 37.0 times and Marvell at 15.2 times. These metrics suggest there is little room for growth to decelerate.
Investors will watch two key events on Tuesday for signals on AI infrastructure demand. Astera Labs (NASDAQ:ALAB) will report results after the market close, with its earnings call scheduled for 4:30 p.m. EDT. The company's previous midpoint guidance of $360 million suggested a sequential increase of 16.7%. Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) will hold its earnings call at 5 p.m. EDT, with management forecasting quarterly revenue of approximately $11.2 billion, plus or minus $300 million, which would mark a 9% sequential increase.
Credo's investor calendar shows no scheduled events for the week of August 3-7. Astera provides a more immediate view on connectivity trends, while AMD offers a broader indication of accelerator and server demand.
Risks remain: Credo relied on three end customers for 84% of its fiscal 2026 revenue, and its 10 largest direct customers contributed close to 90%. Most orders are not covered by long-term purchase agreements and may be adjusted or postponed.
Monday's trading will reveal whether the rebound is sustainable. The greater challenge is revenue breadth. Credo's valuation continues to depend on both speed and execution.
