StablecoinX Inc. (NASDAQ:USDE) experienced a dramatic rally on Friday, with shares climbing 79.49% to $7.18. The surge, which took place during afternoon trading, significantly narrowed the discount on the company's ENA treasury holdings to 21% from the reported value.
Trading volume was exceptionally heavy, reaching 64.4 million shares — approximately 27 times the stock's three-month average. This heightened activity suggests strong investor interest and possibly short-covering or speculative buying.
The company had previously reported the value of its ENA treasury at $9.09 per Class A share as of June 30. Friday's close of $7.18 left the shares trading 21% below that figure, a marked improvement from Thursday's close of $4.00, which represented a 56% discount.
During Friday's session, the discount narrowed to as little as 9.4% at the peak price of $8.24. The rapid adjustment indicates a significant repricing of the stock relative to its underlying digital asset holdings.
The rally was supported by a broader uptick in cryptocurrency markets. Bitcoin advanced nearly 7% on Friday and climbed roughly 23% over the week. Market participants attributed the gains to improved liquidity, a softer U.S. dollar, and renewed optimism regarding regulatory and policy developments.
StablecoinX's second-quarter financial report, released in June, detailed the composition of its treasury. The company held 3.03 billion ENA tokens, valued at $218.4 million at fair value, translating to $9.09 per Class A share. Cash and equivalents stood at $18.9 million, while total assets were $232.6 million. Total liabilities were $18.3 million, including $4.7 million in outstanding warrants.
Chief Financial Officer Young Cho previously stated that management was actively working to "narrow the discount" between the share price and the digital-asset value. Friday's move represented progress, but the gap remains.
Operationally, StablecoinX is still in its early stages. By August 12, its verifier node had processed over $3 billion in total cross-chain volume. Infrastructure services generated $62,372 in revenue during the last two weeks of June. The company reported a net loss of $34.2 million for the quarter, largely due to a $36.2 million impairment charge on digital intangible assets.
Notably, StablecoinX has no tracked analyst coverage, which contrasts with peers such as Circle Internet Group (NYSE:CRCL), which has a consensus "Buy" rating with a $103.03 target, and Coinbase (NASDAQ:COIN), rated "Overweight" by Cantor Fitzgerald with a $184 target. The absence of coverage means the stock is primarily valued based on its ENA treasury and nascent product offerings.
Management plans to launch distribution services in 2027, subject to market and regulatory approvals. In July, its Harness middleware secured its first client. However, these initiatives are not yet significant revenue drivers.
Risks remain, including volatility in ENA prices, potential impairments, low trading liquidity, warrant liabilities, and regulatory uncertainties. While Friday's rally made the stock appear less statistically inexpensive, it remains a complex investment vehicle tied to a single digital asset.
