UiPath Inc. (NYSE: PATH) closed Friday at $16.01, down 4.0% for the day but still posting a robust 6.4% weekly gain. The stock's recent surge has pushed it well beyond Wall Street's consensus expectations, finishing 18.2% above the average analyst price target of $13.55 and 6.7% above the highest estimate of $15.00.

The rally comes amid a notable insider transaction. Chief Accounting Officer Hitesh Ramani sold 50,000 shares between Thursday and Friday, generating proceeds of $831,250. The average sale price of $16.625 was 3.8% above Friday's closing price. The sales were executed under a Rule 10b5-1 plan established on March 25, indicating they were prearranged and not a reaction to the recent price movement.

UiPath's weekly price trajectory was marked by volatility. After closing at $15.05 on August 7, the stock slipped 2.9% to $15.26 on August 12, then surged 9.3% to $16.68 on August 13 before Friday's pullback. Trading volume on Friday reached 50.6 million shares, below the 79.7 million average, with shares ranging between $15.84 and $16.82. Despite the gains, the stock remains 19.3% below its 52-week high of $19.84.

Analysts have yet to adjust their price targets to reflect the new valuation. On Thursday, RBC Capital's Matthew Hedberg reiterated a Hold rating with a $15 target, a level the stock surpassed by 11.2% that session. The consensus among 15 analysts is a price target of $13.55, with the highest at $15 and the lowest at $12.

Ramani's sale represents only a fraction of UiPath's market value, but it trimmed his direct holdings by 17.5%, leaving him with 235,052 shares worth approximately $3.76 million at Friday's close. The Form 144 filing confirmed the prearranged nature of the transactions.

UiPath's operational performance is a key driver of the stock's rerating. In the fiscal first quarter, revenue grew 17% to $418.4 million, while annual recurring revenue (ARR) increased 12% to $1.901 billion. The company reported GAAP operating income of $28 million and adjusted free cash flow of $130 million, with cash and marketable securities totaling $1.42 billion. Founder and CEO Daniel Dines highlighted that agentic products are "moving from pilot to production."

Looking ahead, UiPath expects second-quarter revenue of $395 million to $400 million, a decline from the first quarter, though ARR is projected to rise to $1.929 billion-$1.934 billion. For fiscal 2027, the company guides revenue of $1.776 billion-$1.781 billion and non-GAAP operating income of approximately $430 million.

With a market capitalization of $8.30 billion, UiPath trades at roughly 4.7 times the midpoint of its fiscal 2027 revenue guidance, and its trailing price-to-earnings ratio is about 26.4. Investors are pricing in sustained double-digit ARR growth and improved operating leverage.

Key risks include a slowdown in enterprise AI adoption, which could dampen ARR growth and pull shares back toward the $13.55 consensus. Additional scheduled insider sales may also weigh on sentiment. Conversely, strong quarterly results or upward target revisions could support the current valuation.

Next week, the $15 level is a critical support to watch, as it aligns with the highest analyst target. A close below that would erase most of Thursday's gains, while holding above $16 would maintain the premium over analyst expectations.
