Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) recorded net inflows of $25.6 million on August 26, as U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded products extended their winning streak to eight consecutive sessions. The broader industry saw total net inflows of $232.2 million that day, with BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) dominating the flow picture.

According to data compiled by industry trackers, IBIT attracted $200.8 million in new capital, representing the lion's share of the day's inflows. FBTC's contribution accounted for 11.0% of total net inflows, a notable figure but still below its historical average share of 18.9% of cumulative industry flows. This disparity suggests that while investor interest in Fidelity's product remains healthy, the bulk of new demand is currently being channeled into BlackRock's offering.

Bitcoin itself continued its upward trajectory, trading at $79,969 as of 06:05 EDT on Thursday, up 2.1% from its previous reference close. The cryptocurrency briefly touched $80,472 during the session before retreating below the psychologically significant $80,000 level. This intraday volatility underscores the ongoing tug-of-war between bullish momentum and profit-taking.

FBTC's reference price stood at $68.31, reflecting a 0.09% premium to its most recent published net asset value of $68.249951. The fund had approximately 202.18 million shares outstanding, translating to an implied net asset base of roughly $13.80 billion. The day's inflow represented about 0.19% of this total, a modest but meaningful addition to the fund's assets under management.

Fidelity's product is designed to track Bitcoin using the Fidelity reference rate, with custody provided by Fidelity Digital Assets. The fund charges an annual fee of 0.25%, which would generate approximately $34.5 million in yearly revenue at current asset levels, before expenses or changes in holdings.

The sustained inflow streak comes after a period of outflows earlier in the year. Last week alone, five consecutive days of positive flows added nearly $2 billion to the sector, helping to offset some of the earlier withdrawals. This renewed appetite for spot Bitcoin ETFs reflects growing institutional confidence in digital assets as an asset class.

Citi analyst Alex Saunders highlighted ETF flows as the "key catalyst to watch" in a recent report, noting that fund launches are directly tied to spot-market demand. Saunders cautioned that daily flows can change direction rapidly, making them a volatile indicator of market sentiment.

Investors should be aware of the risks associated with digital asset products. Fidelity warns that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies experience significant volatility and may lose liquidity. FBTC is not registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940, and shares cannot be exchanged for Bitcoin directly. A drop below the recent intraday low of $77,658 would undermine the current bullish price signal.

As U.S. markets open at 09:30 EDT, traders will be watching FBTC's premium, trading volume, and price reaction relative to Bitcoin's overnight movement. Upcoming creation data will also indicate whether Fidelity's inflows are continuing to align with the broader industry trend.
